Sisterly love seems like the ideal phrase to describe the moment Meryl Streep and Oprah Winfrey fell into each other’s arms in a warm embrace.
The scene was the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles, and both ladies were present, both bespectacled but in gowns of different hues. Beyond embracing each other, they also held hands at some point and posed for the camera.

Meryl Streep and Oprah are not just friends but also powerhouses in the world of film and TV. Their friendship dates back years and continues to grow stronger with each passing day. It is on record that years ago, when Oprah “joked” about running for President, Meryl was one of those who thought she should run for the number one job in America.
While the political interest may not be resonant at this point, it has changed nothing in the friendship between the two. Both are still friends and supporters of each other.
