Sjava Leads #TeamBlue In Red Bull Sound Clash – What To Expect

Red Bull continues its push for South African music with the RedBull SoundClash which would see teams compete for musical supremacy on the platform.

Already, we have #TeamBlue, which has Sjava as captain and #TeamRed, which has Focalistic as captain. Both teams will slug it out with one team expected to emerge victorious at the end of the day.

The organisers of the event describe Red Bull SoundClash as “a musical clash between two artists. Each competitor is set on two opposing stages, across four heated rounds of musical showmanship.” But the verdict on who is declared winner rests with the viewers themselves – or rather the audience.

The clash has four rounds, with artists giving their best to win the favour of the crowd and ultimately a victory verdict. In the first round, both competing artists deliver covers of the same song, adding personal touches to it in their bid to win the crowd’s favour.

The second round is called the takeover and sees each artist perform their rival’s songs in their own style. It is as simple as Artist A playing one of their own songs and Artist B taking over and finishing it in their own style

Things get more intense in round three – The Clash, where artists are pushed out of their comfort zones to render a song in a different style from the original. The clash ends with the wildcard.
