In the ever-changing world of film, there is never a shortage of opinions about actors and the flicks they feature in. Some opinions or rumours, though, generate so much interest and sometimes elicit a response from movie producers.
At least this much manifested again recently with reports making the round that Samukele Mkhize is leaving “Skeem Saam,” one of the prominent soapies in South Africa.
So strong were the rumours of Mkhize’s exit that producers of the series had to issue a statement denying the claims that the actor was leaving.
Rumours of Mkhize’s exit followed a report by entertainment commentator Jabu Mcdonald, who claimed in a tweet that the actress was leaving the soapie. Well, reacting to the claim, the producers have responded: “That is definitely fake news. Samukele isn’t leaving the show.”
This isn’t the first time that a report has been denied by producers. In a previous example, the report eventually came out true, after initial denials. Whether that would be the case here as well is unclear at this point, but South Africans are certainly following events.
By the way, in “Skeem Saam,” Mkhize stood out in her role and had a robust fanbase as well.
