Snoop Dogg Acquires Death Row Records, Dropping New Album Under Record Label

American rapper Snoop Dogg is now on death row. No, no, we don’t mean he’s one of the losers gearing to face the hangman.

Far from it, mate. The songster has acquired death Row Records. So y’all can think of him as the top dog in that musical powerhouse right now.

It would have been just another acquisition, except that the rapper has been part of the label since the beginning of his career. So the acquisition means a lot to him.

In a post to Instagram soon after the acquisition, the songster noted he’s thrilled and appreciative of the opportunity to acquire the record label, which he said has immense untapped future value.

The acquisition was especially meaningful and it feels good, according to him, to finally own a piece of something that was part of the inception of his career. You can check out the video below.

Death Row Records was founded in 1992 by Dr. Dre, Suge Knight, the D.O.C., and Dick Griffey. Defunct as of 2008, the record label will be roaring back to life today with “B.O.D.R.” a new album from Snoop Dogg.
