Exes, Somizi, and Mohale, have teamed up to sue their television show producer despite pursuing a divorce.
Last year, the internet was abuzz with reactions to the looming divorce hanging over Somizi and Mohale’s picture-perfect marriage. According to reports, Mohale had filed for divorce at the Joburg High Court, accusing Mhlongo of domestic abuse. It was messy.
The two have since been in court processing their separation. They have presently decided on a cease-fire and teamed up to sue their television producer for R1.5m owed them since they married in 2020. According to the suit, R1.5-million for the broadcasting rights to their wedding ceremony has still not been paid.
The two had sold the broadcasting rights to Bar Leader TV, which produced their show Living The Dream With Somizi. While the wedding ceremony was broadcast on Showmax, the company owned by businessman Legend Manqele has yet to pay them. According to a report by Sunday World, “Mohale’s lawyer, Vanessa Da Silva Farai Fernihough, of Ulrich Roux and Associates, wrote a letter of demand on Thursday to the producer to pay the money by no later than Thursday next week or face a lawsuit”.
