Sonia Mbele and her co-workers are reportedly facing 42 charges of tax evasion for ‘Real Housewives of Johannesburg.’

According to new reports, Mzansi actress Sonia Mbele and her two colleagues have allegedly missed tax payments for their hit reality TV show, “Real Housewives of Johannesburg.” Briefly reports that she, with partners Yolisa Gqunta and Rebone Sesing, is facing 42 counts with the tax man from 2019 to 2022.

The new legal drama has reopened her former Zanu-PF drama. TimesLIVE reports that the actress missed her court appearance and submitted a note that was rejected by the judge. According to a statement released by the National Prosecution Authority,

“The directors in relation to their company, Real Housewives of South Africa are facing 42 counts of not filling company income tax from 2019 to 2022, not filing their Value Added Tax (VAT) returns from 2020 to 2022, and also not filing their Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE) from 2020 until 2022.”

The famous actress was previously slammed for her Zimbabwe visit with several other celebrities. Her new legal woes have led to more scrutiny of her affairs. Reacting on the X app, @Kwena06019336 wrote, “I hope SARS got its cut from the Zimbabwean Zanu-PF-driven campaign that Sonia attended last month. I hear it was around 7 figures in ZAR.” @AmuFloyd wrote, “If it’s not lottery money, it’s defrauding SARS. Our celebs!”
