South Africa’s Lalela Mswane crowned Miss Supranational 2022

Reigning  Miss South Africa, Lalela Mswane emerged as Miss Supranational 2022 as she takes the crown at the newly completed beauty competition. Miss Thailand, Praewwanich Ruangthathong from Thailand was the first runner-up in the competition while Vietnamesse’s Nguyen Duyen was the second runner-up.

The contest which started in 2009, is one of the most recognised and prestigious global events on the planet. Miss South Africa’s Lalela Mswane represented South Africa at Miss Universe 2021, placing her in the second position.

Ahead of the contest, Lalela took to her Instagram to say, “I don’t think words could express my gratitude for this experience. The people I have crossed paths with, the memories I have made, and the things I have learned have all been so enriching. “

Before the event, the 25-year-old told Channel24 that her approach to the Miss Supranational contest was to stay original. Miss Supranational 2022 competition, which took place in Poland, hosted beautiful women from different countries.

On October 16 2021, Lalela Mswane emerged as Miss South Africa in Cape Town. The ballerina and model hold a law degree. Mswane hails from KwaSokhulu, in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal.

Mswane attended Pro Arte Alphen Park high school in Tshwane which incorporated the arts and business in its curriculum. She learned ballet with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) before finishing her studies at the University of Pretoria.
