Beauty pageants have been the salvation of many ladies from “humble” backgrounds and also those without social capital. From nothing, most of them had risen to prominence and riches.
For the most part, not much attention is paid to those who actually host the event. But the hosts are just as important and get a lot of good press from just being hosts, which translates to social capital as well.
With that in mind, of course, many South Africans are curious about who will be hosting the new Crown Chasers. The public broadcaster SABC has already confirmed the show. But who will be hosting it?
Who will host Miss South Africa this year? Already, speculations are rife that media personality and entrepreneur Bonang Matheba will host the show. The respected entertainment commentator Phil Mphela has even said something along the same line.
At the time of writing, though, the SABC had said nothing about who will be hosting the show this year. Well, it’s just a matter of time before that is revealed. One thing you can bet on,m though, is that the organisers are not using an unknown figure but someone already famous. Just wait for the reveal if you please.
