Sphe and Naves Talk About Toxic Work Environment at Gagasi FM

DJ Sphectacula and Naves open up about the rumoured toxic work environment at Gagasi FM following their return to the station.

Weeks ago, Gagasi FM trended for all the wrong reasons. The station was called out by their former employee Penny Ntuli for its toxic work environment and how little they paid her. Recent DJ Sphectacula and Naves were announced as returning hosts on the station.

Sphe and Naves they are said to be joining the Zitso on the weekday afternoon drive-time show The Gagasi FM Fast Lane. The response to the announcement was positive. Speaking to TimesLIVE about the show, Sphe said,

“The beautiful thing about the show is that all the features were brainstormed and decided by the three of us so the entire show is a firm fave for us all. What has been blowing my mind lately is the reaction to Reality Check, where we get to discuss pertinent topics with listeners and a feature called ‘KwaMlungu’, where they share funny stories of what happens at their offices with us.”

When asked about the alleged toxic work environment at Gagasi, Sphe replied,

“If that was the case then I would not have come back. I enjoyed our first season here and so far this one is even better.”

They said they engage in,

“Regular check-ins with management, weekly DJ meetings and a very dope camaraderie throughout the station.”
