Spotify Links Up With Walmart+ for a Free Six-Month Trial of Spotify Premium

For music lovers who may not have the funds for an initial Spotify subscription, there’s a piece of good news from the music platform.

Spotify has linked up with Walmart+ to give potential subscribers a free six-month trial of Spotify Premium.

The two companies announced the collaboration in a press statement released yesterday, Tuesday 8 March.

According to Spotify and Walmart, the Spotify Premium membership is open to new and existing customers of Walmart+. So, to be eligible, one has to first be a subscriber to Walmart+.

Both companies boasted about their sinews – Walmart as one of the world’s biggest retailers, and Spotify as the world’s most popular streaming platform.

According to the joint statement, after redeeming the offer, subscribers to Walmart+ will “receive the first six months of Spotify’s Individual Premium offering for free—unlocking ad-free streaming of millions of songs.”

Spotify elected to work with Walmart on this offer because of Walmart’s scale and reach, which offers the streaming giant the opportunity to bring quality audio content to more people across the United States.

It appears fans are in for the new offer, and they have been hailing both companies for taking the initiative. It remains to be seen what impact the offer will make on the streaming platform. Stay tuned.
