Springboks Flyhalf Derick Hougaard Reportedly Fighting For His Life In Hospital
Former Springboks flyhalf Derick Hougaard is reportedly battling for his life in a Pretoria hospital, where he has reportedly been in a coma for a week.
Last Friday, the rugby star had reportedly felt nauseous. It was later discovered that he had an inflammation of the lungs. He was taken to the hospital, where he went into a coma. He reportedly remained in a coma for a week.
His current medical state has been a cause of worry for his family and even friends. The concern is understandable because as early as last Friday, Hougaard had posted on Facebook to celebrate his former Bulls teammate Pierre Spies’s 38th birthday.
Sadly, that same day, he would feel unwell and ended up in the hospital, where he currently is, with fans and friends praying for him and wishing him a quick recovery. Even the post where he wished his former teammate a happy birthday had turned into a prayer junction of sorts, as fans send their best wishes for his recovery in the comment section.
Derick Hougaard, who once confessed he has been forgetting things for a while, was advised to undergo MRI on his brain. That should, hopefully, give more insights into his illness and open the way to treatment.
