Steve Hofmeyr has just risen in stout defence of his son who was arrested allegedly over public violence.
Steve’s son Devon was reportedly arrested and charged with public violence. Devon, the founder of the Bittereinders group, was arrested for protesting the arrest of a farm employee, as well as allegedly assaulting the farm’s employee.
Reacting to the news of his son’s arrest Steve is of the view that Devon acted right, having as he does the right to protest.
Devon is charged alongside three others in a case which is slowly gaining national attention. You can check out the post below.

Those conversant with Steve’s life would in no way be surprised with how things have turned out for his son Devon. Steve himself has had multiple brushes with the law in the past.
Beyond that, given his antecedents, it cannot be said that his brush with the authorities is over yet. While it is one thing to throw his weight behind his son in the ongoing battle with the law, it is a different ball game to extricate him from the claws of the law.
Well, the coming days should reveal in what direction things go. Keep your eyes peeled.
