Stilo Magolide Responds To AKA’s Remarks On Amapiano Not Surviving 10 Years

SA Hip Hop star Stilo Magolide has responded to AKA’s remarks that Amapiano would not last ten years.

We would all agree that Amapiano’s resilience so far was not expected. The new movement has displaced other genres in the country, dominated the airwaves, and the continent, and is projected to be the next big thing after Afrobeats.

However, most SA Hip Hop stars are still skeptical. Speaking about the genre, AKA said, “Amapiano is South African music so it’s okay but at the end of the day hip hop has been here for like 20 years. Piano you can have one, let’s see if you here at year 10,”

In an interview on MyDM Podcast, rapper Stilo Magolide was asked to respond to this. He shared that the same thing was said about SA Hip Hop but it still thrived. He said “That’s what they said about hip hop, when hip hop started they said you guys are not gonna do it, like you guys with your baggy pants and American accent you won’t last,”

Stilo added, “From that, we created a lifestyle with the basketball tournaments, we empowered a lot of kids, we save a lot of lives with this hip hop thing and Mapiano is saving a lot of lives,
