Stormers Players Slammed For Racist Song Dance [video]

Stormers players Dweba and Dayimani have been slammed by Mzansi for dancing to the racist song “Habibi (Quantum Sound).”

According to a recent report by The South African, popular Stormers players Joseph Dweba, Hacjivah Dayimani, and others are being criticised for featuring in a clip where they are seen dancing to amapiano song “Habibi (Quantum Sound)” by Sizwe Nineteen. The song has been reported to contain a racial slur.

The video was posted by the club on social media giving fans a peek into the team’s pregame workout on the pitch. Team members Joseph Dweba, Hacjivah Daiymani, Sazi Sandi, and Scarra Ntubeni were seen dancing to the racist “Habibi (Quantum Sound)” by amapiano artist Sizwe Nineteen.

The South African writes that the song features a sample by the Hindi song “Patakha Guddi” from the 2014 movie “Highway.” Dweba sang along to the lyrics while Dayimani delivered a few “Bollywood” dance moves. The Stormers official page captioned the post, “The vibes at the DHL Stadium are unmatched.”

The video was shared before their match against the Ospreys on Saturday. Unfortunately, they lost 21 -27 against them at their home stadium. Fans slammed the video.

@prophetnelsonironside: “This song is deeply troubling, as it comes across as disrespectful and racially insensitive. It’s important to be mindful of the impact our words and actions can have on others. This song clearly falls short in promoting respect and understanding. It’s evident that they are fully aware of the negative connotations associated with the term.”

@katleho_twala replied, “This song should be banned! A white person might as well make a song with the K-word”.

@neo_nashking wrote, “The lyrics in this song are racist.”
