SZA confirms she dated Drake in 2009 and not in 2008 as the rapper claimed.
Social media lit up recently with claims of a past romance between Drizzy and SZA. This was after the release of Drake’s “Mr Right Now” which led fans to accuse the rapper of dating an underaged SZA.
Following much speculation, SZA has finally spoken out to confirm that they indeed dated. But according to her, it actually happened in 2009 and not in ’08. She revealed he probably innocently rhymed “08” with “wait”, but stated clearly that she was 19 at the time. She called the relationship “Completely innocent” and “lifetimes ago”.
There have been reports of the “All The Stars” singer unfollowing Drake after the release of the song, but those haven’t been confirmed. According to her tweet, it is all love and peace between them. We’d really love to see them hit it off again. Say aye if you would too.
