Talib Kweli & Madlib have released new visuals for their latest jam, “Nat Turner,” featuring SA Hip Hop star Cassper Nyovest and Nigerian singer Seun Kuti.
Last month, we reported that Talib Kweli & Madlib released “Liberation 2” as a follow-up to the 1996 album. In a shared tweet, Cassper Nyovest announced that he and Grammy nominee Seun Kuti were featured on the project.
They appear in the song “Nat Turner.” The album was released exclusively on Luminary, a subscription-based podcast. Cass also revealed he recorded his verse for the song late last year. In a statement to Hype Beast, Talib said,
“People today are taking stock of what is most important — family, health, wellness, love. The materialism and debauchery that is stereotypically associated with hip hop has lost some of its luster. Madlib and I have been consistent in our messaging. Never has there been a better time for such honest, message driven music that pays tribute to the sounds that came before us.”
