Tekashi 6ix9ine Accuses Billboard of Manipulating Hot 100 Chart Results

American rapper, Tekashi 6ix9ine, believes that Billboard is cheating him out of claiming the number one spot. The rainbow-haired rapper took to his Instagram page to post a video where he claimed that Billboard manipulates the Hot 100 charts and only play ‘favorites.’

The ‘GOOBA’ rapper revealed forecasts that were sent on Thursday to major record labels. In the initial mail, Doja Cat’s hit single, featuring Nicki Minaj, was at number 1, followed by 6ix9ine’s ‘GOOBA.’ At number three spot was The Weeknd’s ‘Blinding Lights’ and Megan Thee Stallion and Beyonce’s ‘Savage’ took the number 3 spot. Rounding to number 5 was Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber’s ‘Stuck With U.’

The rainbow-haired rapper further showed a second email that showed that ‘out of nowhere,’ ‘Stuck Wiith U’ had submitted 60,000 units that boosted it to number 1.

Tekashi 6ix9ine revealed in the video:

[Grande and Beiber] went from being fifth place to first place out of nowhere. So ‘Gooba’ never jumps to No. 1, but Ariana jumps from No. 5 to No.1?

He also talked about a Billboard tweet that promoted signed copies of ‘Stuck With U’ single.

6ix9ine said:

I’ll be real disappointed ‘cause this is for every rapper, artist in the world. Every genre. If you manipulate the charts right and you create bundles…’Gooba’ streamed over 200 millions streams-more than ‘Stuck With U,’ Doja Cat, more than every artist that released a song this week double the times. It’s a landslide. Because literally, you’re manipulating the charts now. So, Billboard, the world is watching…If y’all do this to every artist in the world, how can an artist that works hard to get No. 1? How?

Earlier this week, the young rapper stated on Instagram that everybody was watching the Billboard charts and he would not like to believe that artists are using several tactics to gain an edge.

The ‘GOOBA’ hitmaker has promised his fans that he would release a brand new single next week if they purchase ‘GOOBA’ on iTunes.
