Tevin Campbell On Coming Out As Gay

Celebrated singer Tevin Campbell has given clues about his coming out days as gay during an incisive interview with People magazine.

Sexuality, as well as the debate surrounding it, has been as old as man. However, it wasn’t until recently that people who think themselves “different” began finding their voices and creating communities that will fight their causes.

Tevin Campbell has come a long way. In the interview, he gave clues about his journey as an artist and as a man, noting that he came out as gay to his family when he was bout 19 or 20 years old. At the outset, though, he said that he didn’t know who he was.

Earlier this year, a Twitter user had tweeted that his mother used to tell him that Tevin Campbell and a couple of other musicians were gay. In response to that tweet, Campbell had tweeted that he is [rainbow] . The rainbow is a symbol of homosexuality.

The affirmation of his sexuality provoked congratulations from some quarters. But the songster deleted the tweet soon after, leading to more confusion.

Anyway, he has set the records straight this time in his People interview. He is gay and has no qualms affirming the same publicly.
