The Thabo Bester case has been postponed until June for further investigation.

The recapture of the Facebook Rapist in Tanzania rocked Mzansi and the world. He and his cohorts have since been facing trial in court. According to recent reports, Bester’s legal team took offense over his virtual appearance in court.

On Tuesday morning, Bester appeared virtually before the Bloemfontein magistrate court. His lawyer advocate Jeremiah Pela, tried to get the court to allow Bester to attend the next proceedings in person. However, the case was postponed to June 20 for further investigations.

Also, further reports reveal that Magistrate Motlholo Khabisi told the defense team for the adjourning proceedings that he was not convinced by the strength of their case.

Thabo Bester faces 11 charges including fraud, violating a body, corruption in terms of giving a benefit, arson, escaping from lawful custody, and defeating the ends of justice. He was serving a life sentence at the Mangaung Correctional Facility before his escape in 2022.
