Memories are forever, and when one has done well, chances are one would be remembered for a long time after death. This has been the reality of many accomplished people, including the iconic singer Miriam Makeba.
Singer Thandiswa Mazwai recently recalled the moment they shared a stage together, and how that moment was symbolic of where she would be much later. Having been on the same stage with an accomplished musician and one she admired greatly, it was only a matter of time before she herself become musical royalty.
The reflection stemmed from a post that X user Felicia Mabuza Suttle shared. In the clip, Makeba could be seen with other people in what appears to be an auditorium. Thandiswa Mazwai saw the clip and shared it, noting in the caption that she had been searching for that moment and now that she has found it, she is beside herself with joy. She wasn’t done just yet, however, as she also shared – this time on Instagram – a picture of herself and the late singer on the same stage. She spoke about the grace that the iconic musician had and how “Mama” had said that she, Thandiswa, had something special.
