Thandiwe Newton Denies Claims That She Was Fired From Magic Mike Due To A Row With Channing Tatum Over Will Smith

Thandiwe Newton has denied claims that she was fired from her role on Magic Mike due to a row with Channing Tatum over Will Smith’s behavior at the Oscars.

The actor, Thandiwe Newton, is refuting claims that she was fired from Magic Mike. According to her, it is the other way around. Newton said she left the film of her own volition after 11 days of shooting. She has slammed claims that she was axed after she had an argument with Channing Tatum over Will Smith’s behavior at the Oscars.

A spokesperson for the actor said in a statement, “Thandiwe Newton has made the difficult decision to step away from the production of Warner Bros Pictures’ Magic Mike’s Last Dance to deal with family matters,” They called reports of her being fired from the film “completely inaccurate”.

The news was first shared in a report by The Sun, where a source claimed that the two had gotten into an argument while discussing Smith’s behavior at the Oscars last month. Smith hit the stage and slapped Chris Rock after he made a joke about his wife’s alopecia. The source revealed that Tatum said, “I am not working with her any more.” Salma Hayek will take on Newton’s role in the film.
