‘The Estate’ Will Go On Production Hiatus After Season 3

SABC 3’s hit drama series “The Estate” will go on a production hiatus after season 3 due to load-shedding.

Since the debut of the drama series “The Estate” on SABC 3, the show has been a hit. It has been one for three seasons, but according to recent reports, the show will be going on a production hiatus after the end of season 3 in July.

SABC 3 shared the sad news in a recent media statement. The channel said production for the show would be on pause as it reviews its offering. Khayelihle Gumede, CEO of Clive Morris Productions, said,

“Key market changes such as the impact of the analogue switch and load shedding has forced a review on the channel’s strategy. In addition, “The Estate” will be put on hold whilst reviewing its offering. This exercise is aimed at enabling the S3 to better compete with the environment.”

The statement revealed that production will wrap in June.

“It has been an immense privilege to work with the SABC in producing The Estate over the last three seasons.”

“We are extremely grateful to our national broadcaster for the bravery and courage it has demonstrated in affording us the opportunity to tell authentic, hard-hitting, groundbreaking stories which reflect the South Africa we live in today,”

Gumede thanked everyone, “Thank you to our incredible crew and cast for their unparalleled talent and commitment, and most of all, thank you to the viewers who have walked the journey with us over the past two years.”

“We look forward to sharing the next chapter of ‘The Estate’ with the nation after our production hiatus.”
