Well, they didn’t have to wait long to find out. As a rule, each contestant’s identity is hidden. They usually wear masks or costumes of animals and will be identified by the same animals.
They only get to reveal their identity when they are about to be evicted from the show. This makes it all the more exciting, as it leaves fans guessing who is behind the mask.
Fans found out recently that the person under the tortoise costume was none other than Celeste Ntuli.
Before the singer’s identity was eventually revealed, some of those on the set had a shot at guessing who was behind the mask.
Skhumba guessed Tortoise to be Thembi Seete and even Sophie Ndaba. It was a wrong position, of course, as was Sophie’s position on who might be behind the mask.
The final unveiling provoked both laughter and surprise. But then, that’s one of the reasons why the reality show has been such a hit with the audience.
