South African actor Vuyo Mse has cried out to the premier of Gauteng Province, Panyaza Lesufi, asking him to find a way to get his daughter a place in school.
Apparently, his daughter, whom he didn’t name, was supposed to begin high school in January 2023. However, for no fault of hers or even his, she is at home because there are no classroom spaces to accommodate her.
Now she has to watch as her siblings go off to school each day. She had followed him to the district office at some point, but she is still at home and not at school where she is supposed to be. For an A student, he described the situation as heartbreaking.
Almost a week after he tweeted that, with the problem not resolved, The Queen actor had made another tweet while retweeting the old one. This time, he mentioned the premier in the tweet, urging him to talk to the people in charge to ensure his daughter gets a space.
Many South Africans who interacted with the tweet sympathised with him, while others noted that they were facing exactly the same issues and hoping for a resolution soon.
