The Suspects Arrested For Esther Mahlangu’s Robbery & Assault Are Due In Court

The suspects arrested in Esther Mahlangu’s robbery and assault are scheduled to appear in court on Friday.

Mpumalanga Premier Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane announced on Thursday, April 7, that following a tip-off, arrests were made in connection to Esther Mahlangu’s assault and robbery at her home in Siyabuswa last month. He revealed that one of the suspects was found in possession of Mahlangu’s gun.

The world-renowned singer (87) had reported the assault and robbery to the police last month after it happened. According to reports, the robbers made away with an undisclosed amount of money and her firearm (which was found in one of the suspects’ possession).

Appearing in court, one of the suspects who attacked the Ndebele artist has been granted bail of R3000. He had been arrested alongside an accomplice after the police in that province received a tip-off to locate him. The Mpumalanga police spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said the two men were arrested alongside 7 others.
