The Weeknd dethrone Roddy Ricch’s “The Box” to claim the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Blinding Lights”.

Everyone in the world was waiting for the outcome of this week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart. Well, only everyone who checks up on the American music charts. For about 11 weeks, Hip-hop wonderkid, Roddy Ricch had claimed the number one spot on the chart.

He had led on both the Hip-hop and Streaming songs charts with his viral hit song “The Box”. With The Weeknd’s brand new album “After Hours” out and the massive streams for his song “Blinding Lights”, we all expected him to be a strong contender for the number one spot.

The talented RnB star had previously hit the top of the chart with “Heartless” also off the “After Hours” album. With this new number one, The Weeknd earns his 5th Hot 100 number one hit as he edges “The Box” out of the way.

Also in the top 5 are “Dont Start Now” by Dua Lipa at (No.3), Weeknd’s “Heartless” (No.4), and Post Malone’s former leader, “Circles” (N0.5).
