Theft Case Postponed As DJ Zinhle Battles Former Employee Who Allegedly Stole R96K

Just recently, many South Africans were stunned when news circulated online that an employee at the Menlyn store of Era by DJ Zinhle had stolen goods worth about R96k. The name of the employee was not given at the time but things are beginning to become clearer.

Thobile Malatjie is reportedly the lady who had pilfered from DJ Zinhle’s and ultimately earned the boot from the company when the stealing was unearthed. She was arrested in January this year. Thus began the case to have her prosecuted.

She appeared before the Hatfield Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 23 May on charges of larceny but the case was postponed to June to allow for mediation

DJ Zinhle reportedly discovered the theft after she realised the store was no longer generating a profit and decided to set a trap for the salesgirl. She sent her friends to the store to buy some items. And then she came to the store herself to ask the salesgirl about the sales made for the day and the salesgirl gave her R200. But the friends she brought there had bought things waaaaaaaaay higher than the figure she got from Thobile Malatjie.

Well, she later confessed that she had been pilfering from the store.
