It’s been two months since AKA’s assassination, and one man who was in the middle of the narrative around the brutal assassination of the rapper was Don Design. He was AKA’s personal DJ and was also on the ground when he was slain.
AKA had been shot dead alongside his manager Tebello “Tibz” Motsoabe as he stepped out of Wish Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban on February 10. Some of the people who saw the CCTV footage of the killing pointed to Don Design as being complicit in the rapper’s killing.
But AKA’s mother, Lynn Forbes, was quick to come to Don Design’s defence, describing him as her son and noting he couldn’t have been part of the conspiracy. But some tweeps still maintain their stand on his guilt.
For his part, it has not been an easy ride for Don Design, as he noted in a recent post on his Instagram Story that he has been receiving death threats. He pointed out that it has not been easy at all, with the public pointing to him as an accomplice in AKA’s death. And Despite it being his, Don Design’s, birthday, it was not exactly a happy. It remains his worst birthday ever.
