Everyday, someone goes out and makes South Africa proud. This year, we have all rallied around Mzansi actress, Thuso Mbedu and praised her for her beautiful depiction of the character, Cora in the Hollywood series, The Underground Railroad.

Literally everyone who has seen the film has thrown praises her way. She truly deserves. Now, there’s more. According to recent reports, Thuso just scored her first international nod for her portrayal of Cora in the series. She has been nominated for Outstanding Actress in TV MOVIE/LIMITED SERIES at the Black Reel TV Awards.

In case you don’t know, this is a huge deal, so get screaming already. Chris Rock is also nominated in the male category. She’s nominated alongside Tessa Thompson. Hopefully, she snags this one for us. Fans have taken to social media to congratulate Mbedu on the new milestone. Shout out to her.
