Social media influencer Calvin Reef has signed an exclusive PR deal with leading PR and celebrity management agency, Starburst Promotions .
The 21-year-old, who rose to prominence in 2020, currently boasts more than 1.8 million followers on TikTok (@calvin_reef) and 65 500 followers on Instagram (calvinreef_official) and his innovative, emotive and authentic content has earned him a place as one of the country’s biggest social media influencers.
Commenting on his collaboration with the globally acclaimed celebrity management agency, which has been representing some of the biggest local and international musicians, actors, films, authors and entrepreneurs for more than a decade, the TikTok star says: “I’m super excited about this new chapter and look forward to working with such an experienced and driven team.”

Calvin was born in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, and currently lives in Ballito. He completed two years of study towards a qualification in Strategic Management, but his studies were put on hold after the social media company he founded received an offer from a record label to work with well-known Canadian band, Neon Dreams, and he moved to Cape Town. He describes this period of his life as a lot of fun and they became quite good friends with this famous band.
Over the past two years, Calvin has had the privilege of creating a TikTok house with other influencers, working with large record labels, collaborating with other influencers, appearing on podcasts, and being cast in a short film (due to be filmed in America next year). He has also appeared in music videos for local artists Snotkop and Che Lee.
The TikTok star is close to his family and enjoys gaming, surfing and motocross. He describes himself as driven and competitive and, as such, he is continuously seeking ways to develop his skills and expand his reach. In addition to growing his current audience and channels, Calvin sells merchandise based on his content and tattoos (he has nine).
He has also set his sights on launching his own digital marketing company, starting a TikTok channel focused on motocross, and pursuing acting opportunities.
