There’s something going on in South Africa that vibes with me. Those were the words of celebrated singer Craig David. He has such a deep connection with the Rainbow Nation that he cannot keep calm.
The British R&B artist is set to perform at his TS5 at Cape Town’s GrandWest Arena and he couldn’t be happier. It’s been about two decades since his last visit to the country, so the current visit means a lot to him.
In a video interview, which you can check out below, he noted that coming to Cape Town “is such a full circle moment since my last performance here.”
The musician’s current tour is named after an apartment he bought in Miami. On the other hand, his TS5 experience actually started with a group of about 250 people, in the intervening years, the number had ballooned to six figures. And given the musician’s current appeal and musical form, it is expected the number will continue to grow.
Getting to South Africa again after such a long time leads to an almost cathartic moment. Whether visits to South Africa will be a regular affair is unclear. But, for now, Craig David says: There’s something going on in South Africa that vibes with me.
