‘Tsotsi’ Actor Presley Chweneyagae Is Also Involved In Lotto Scandal

Like his “Tsotsi” co-star Terry Pheto, actor Presley Chweneyagae is also involved in the Lotto scandal.

Mzansi has been trying to process the news of the Lotto scandal involving “Tsotsi” star Terry Pheto in which over R65m was stolen. According to recent reports, Presley Chweneyagae is also embroiled in it.

Reports reveal that Chweneyagae has also been implicated in the ongoing National Lotteries Commission (NLC) fraud case being investigated by the Special Investigations Unit (SIU). 702reported that GroundUp investigative journalist Raymond Joseph reve[ez-toc] aled on Tuesday that over R67.5 million was received for projects, including a musical event calledTaking Back the Future by the Southern African Youth Movement (SAYM). The “Tsotsi” actor was reportedly an ambassador of the event.

Earlier, Pheto had been implicated in the same scandal for misappropriating funds meant for the poor. According to Joseph, the SAYM show was billed to happen in three provinces in 2017. However, there is no evidence of any of them except for pictures of the opening night. “The only evidence I got was pictures from the opening night of the musical in Mahikeng,” he said.

Chweneyagae was listed as the co-writer and co-director of the South African Youth Movement “SAYM” show. Also, his Presley Chwenengayae Foundation was included in the branding on the vehicle and content related to the project and show. These were all funded by the NLC.
