Tweeps Insist That Archbishop Desmond Tutu Be Remembered For What He Did To Winnie Mandela

Mzansi tweeps are insisting that the late Archbishop Desmond Tutu must be remembered for what he did to Winnie Mandela.

The nation has been rocked by the death of the South Africa’s Archbishop, Desmond Tutu. Tutu’s death was announced by the President, Cyril Ramaphosa who said in a statement that the “passing of Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu is another chapter of bereavement in our nation’s farewell to a generation of outstanding South Africans who have bequeathed us a liberated South Africa,”.

Dr Ramphela Mamphele, acting chairperson of the Archbishop Desmond Tutu IP Trust and coordinator of the Office of the Archbishop has also confirmed his death saying he “died peacefully at the Oasis Frail Care Centre in Cape Town this morning,”. While some have shared heartbreaking reactions to his passing on social media, others believe he must be remembered for what he did to Iconic freedom fighter, the late Winnie Mandela.

Mr. Tutu had forced Winnie to apologize for the murder of Stompei Seipei even after Stompei’s murder told the world that she was innocent. Several Mzansi tweeps have also reacted to this and agree that he will mostly be remembered for that. It has led to a debate on Twitter on what he should be remembered for.
