Twitter Verification: Akon Denies Criticising Elon Musk, Says Account Was Hacked

Twitter Verification is one hot topic that has refused to go away since Elon Musk introduced it o the public to generate revenue from the public. previously, it was free, and only celebs or people at high risk of being impersonated are verified on the platform.

Now, just about anyone can get verified so long as they can fork over the verification fees. And because anyone can get verified, impersonation has increased on the platform, with scammers snagging verification badges to get a semblance of legitimacy to their campaigns.

This has angered many people and some have vowed never to pay for verification when their legacy verification (verification without payment) expires.

Well, is Senegalese-American singer Akon against paid verification as well? That is one question many have been asking after a tweet popped from his handle condemning Elon Musk for the introduction of paid verification.

However, in a new twist to the whole issue, the celebrated musician had claimed that his account was hacked and he wasn’t the one who sent out the tweet condemning Musk. He ended up imploring whoever hacked his account to keep their personal opinions to themselves. However, not many are convinced his account was actually hacked.
