Veteran Actor MacDonald Mathunjwa Is Dead

Veteran actor MacDonald Mathunjwa has died. Until his death, he was famous for several flicks, including “Home Affairs,” in which he played the role of Tatu Ngcobo.

He died in the early hours of 31 May.

The news of his death sent Shockwave a across the movie industry in South Africa, with many who know him sharing their memories of his person as well as his acting odyssey.

Zanoxolo Mthunjwa, a daughter to the veteran actor, speaking to Times Live, noted that her father died of COVID-19 complications. This puts him among several musicians who have perished as a result of the coronavirus pandemic in South Africa.

One of those who have spoken of the late composer nad veteran actor is the Gauteng MEC for sports, arts, culture and recreation Mbali Hlophe. In a tweet, she had described him as an epitome of acting excellence and one who was authentic in every role he played, on television or in theaters.

By the way, besides his “Home Affairs” success, MacDonald Mathunjwa is also famous for his role as Oupa in the SABC1 series “Khululeka.”
