Veteran Radio Host Tim Gough Dies On Air At 55

This Gough isn’t Van, but he’s just gone the way of the celebrated painter – as everyone else would one day. Celebrated British broadcaster Tim Gough is dead. He died on air on 24 October at the age of 55.

According to multiple reports, the radio host may have suffered from a heart attack at his home in Suffolk.

In a news release, GenX Radio Suffolk confirmed the death while noting that Tim Gough was not only hugely experienced but also highly talented. It described his death as shocking and devastating while also noting it is a sad loss for radio and Suffolk County.

At the time of his death, Gough was already a veteran on radio and was much loved for the life he brought to his shows. The news of his death has led to an outpouring of emotion on social media, with those conversant with him or his works, or both, noting how big a loss his exit is for the culture and for radio.

Managing Director of GenX Radio Suffolk, James Hazell, noted he had known Gough for three decades and described him as a ” warm, caring, fun guy” whom he loved dearly.
