Victor Osimhen Might Be Fine Over Pitch Eruption During Napoli’s Battle With Bologna
Football excites so much passion not only among the fans who have to watch from the sides but among the footballers themselves. Sometimes this passion leads to pitch eruptions when things don’t go the way of some of the players.
That was the reality of the Nigerian Victor Osimhen recently following his club’s battle with Bologna on the pitch. With just a few minutes to the goalless game, the Nigerian was substituted when his number was held up for him to leave the pitch.
The substitution didn’t sit well with him and he made that known in an outburst before leaving for the stands to join other players.
The Napoli star had earlier missed a penalty that would have put his team ahead of their rivals, but it remains unclear what motivated coach Rudi Garcia to substitute him. It’s just that the decision apparently miffed the Nigerian, and he didn’t hide it.
Napoli are determined to point out to all players that they must follow the rules and not challenge the decisions of the head coach. This was reportedly communicated to Osimhen. It’s also said that he might likely be fined for his on-pitch tantrums. Well, time will tell what happens next.
