It was a difficult period for everyone who loved AKA during the memorial service held for him on Friday, as many could not contain their emotions and others had to be supported as they mourned.
Of particular interest during the memorial was DJ Zinhle, the ex-girlfriend of the slain rapper, and Kairo Forbes, the daughter she had with AKA. The “Umlilo” hitmaker could be seen in a clip comforting her daughter at some point.
The video of mother comforting daughter had many South Africans emotional, and some spoke about how terrible it was for Kairo to lose her father so young.
Kairo;’s father AKA was gunned down by assassins on February 10 as he came out of Wish restaurant on Florida Road in Durban. He had shared an embrace with his associate and was about to leave the scene when the assassins struck, ending a brilliant career.
The pulling of the trigger changed the trajectory of AKA’s life and there were the people mourning him at his memorial. DJ Zinhle had to put up a brave front and comfort the kid she had with the slain rapper. You can check out the clip below.
