Vusi Nova Insists On Having Refunded R170k Following Missed Gig

Now and then, th South African entertainment space is jolted with news of no-shows by artists who have collected money for appearances. This has happened so many times that one musician has called for accountability on the part of his fellow musicians to avoid this needless calling out for no-shows.

At any rate, another musician who found himself entangled in the same issues recently was the singer Vusi Nova (also called Snova).

A recent report claimed that the songster was paid R170k as appearance fee for the Cherry Festival in Ficksburg but failed to show up for the event.

Expectedly, the claim buzzed across South Africa’s entertainment space, with some people wondering why exactly artists act this way sometimes.

In his defence, though, he pointed out that he had not deliberately stayed away from the event. He had an accident on his way there, which kept him from showing up. he was delayed and also had to report to the police.

Also, on the claim that he owed the event organisers R170k, he was dismissive of it. He insisted he’d compensated them and even made a full refund of the R170k, which was the full payment he got as appearance fee.
