South African rapper Emtee clearly doesn’t rate his compatriot Big Zulu, and he made this clear recently, describing the latter as wack.
The songster made this known during a recent live chat with fans on Instagram. Some of his fans had asked him to collaborate with the “Ichwane Lenyoka” chanter but he dismissed the possibility of them working together, noting that he is not going to “feature a wack rapper.”
The conflict between both musicians started when Big Zulu released his “150 Bars,” a track in which he dissed several notable names in South African music. Emtee thought that was out of place and that Big Zulu should not have dissed his fellow musicians for whatever reason.
The Inkabi Records boss may have apologised since then, but it appears Emtee is in no mood to accept his apology. Instead, whatever opportunity he has, he uses it at Big Zulu’s expense – like in the recent Instagram live.
By the way, the said diss track that miffed Emtee reportedly provoked a hip-hop revival of sorts in South Africa, as hitherto silent rappers started dropping the bars themselves, igniting new interest in music and in the works of the rappers themselves. It remains to be seen if and when Emtee and Big Zulu will resolve their conflict.
