Everyone SA Hip Hop fan knows how much AKA is loved for his lyricism. The famous emcee owned the scene with his music, and it resonated with everyone. Following his passing, his family and team announced plans to proceed with his album release.
The project is scheduled to drop this Friday, February 24, 2023. He previously appeared in an interview with Slikour where he opened up about the meaning behind the album titled. He revealed that it was coined from the term Maskandi because the album contains different sounds, including Kwaito, Hip Hop, and traditional sounds.
He said, “I’m taking more time with the sound and just trying to come up with something new. I call it Mass Country because I wanted to touch on Mass Country like Maskandi. That’s kind of like the play on it.” Check out the interview below.
