Amapiano producer DJ Maphorisa has finally met with Andrea The Vocalist, a 13-year-old singer from Zimbabwe.
The South African discovered the talented singer in January, and the two connected on video call. Phori had also revealed his intention of working with the kid. Now it appears that’s about to happen because the two have finally met face to face.

In a clip shared on his verified Instagram page, DJ Maphorisa had shown him and the kid together in what appears to be his apartment. In the caption to the post, he urged his followers to meet the singer, noting he wants to change the kid’s life.

He might not be faulted on that claim, perhaps, having reportedly been instrumental to the discovery and evolution of a couple of talents in the music industry, including Mlindo The Vocalist. Now Phori has another vocalist in his orbit.
There’s no word yet about a possible collaboration between the kid and his older South African counterpart. But then, a collaborative jam cannot be ruled out.
At any rate, it will be interesting to see what the kid will put out and whether DJ Maphorisa will force him to make piano music – a principal complaint among some musos Phori had nurtured.
