House music DJ and producer Oscar Mbo had many talking over the weekend after sharing alcohol with his fans during his set, leading to a massive scramble.
The songster himself shared the clip of I’m handing out alcohol to his fans on Instagram. However, other platforms had snapped the clip and circulated the same online, leaving many social media users asking questions on whether Oscar Mbo’s action was appropriate or not.
In South Africa, many see alcohol as the soul of the show, and eventgoers routinely buy it while heading to a show. At some point, though, alcohol sales were banned in South Africa.
Peeps desperate for their alcohol fix and not finding it had looted places where it was available. Others had merely started a campaign to lift the ban on alcohol. And then the band was lifted.
By the way, Oscar Mbo had spent his Sunday at Rockets for a show with AKA, Shimza, and Njelic.
Oscar Mbo recently admitted that the South African music industry is tough. Was he using alcohol to make it seem less tough? Also, he may have set a precedent by handing out alcohol to fas. The coming weeks should reveal that.
