AKA might be dead, but if he could see from wherever he is at the moment, he would certainly be pleased to know that his daughter Kairo is doing well and even recently gave a sterling performance of his songs at 947 Joburg Day.
Little Kairo was on the stage with other performers and sang some of AKA’s songs. She was the centre of attention for most of the attendees since they had not expected her at the event, let alone performing of of the songs his father had created before his assassination on February 10 this year.
AKA had just stepped out of Wish restaurant in the company of some of his pals and associates, including his former manager, Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane. An assassin popped close to him and killed him at point-blank range. He collapsed on the streets, never again to share the embrace of his family and girlfriend, Nadia Nakai.
The killing reverberated across South Africa. An investigation has since been launched into his death. However, there has been no serious lead yet and some South Africans are already frustrated with the handling of the case.
But then Kairo is out there showing she can keep her father’s memory alive in her own way. Watch the clip below.
