AKA’s Galaxy 947 Joburg Day Tribute had several celebs in attendance and performing, including his ex-girlfriend, DJ Zinhle, his girlfriend at the time of his assassination, Nadia Nakai, and his only daughter, Kairo Owethu Forbes.
The Tribute ent was put together by Vth Season, a brand AKA was associated with until his death. The songster had been killed with a point-blank shot to the head on February 10, soon after he walked out of Wish Restaurant in the company of his friends and associates, one of whom, Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, his former manager, was killed with him.
Well, the Galaxy 947 Joburg Day Tribute may have come and gone but the memories of the event are still pretty fresh, with peeps recalling what they consider the special moments.
For most, though, the most memorable moment was the time Kairo performed AKA’s song “Company.” It got many emotional and even DJ ZInhle, the kid’s mother, confessed to having shed a tear after her daughter’s performance. Kairo said she wished her dad was alive.
