American singer Usher has just shared a clip of himself vibing with Kabza De Small’s “Sponono” in what appears to be a promotion for luxury brand Versace.
“Sponono” was an amapiano hit that featured the other Scorpion king DJ Maphorisa, Wizkid, Burna Boy and Cassper Nyovest on the song.
The clip Usher dancing to “Sponono” has excited South Africans, including those who worked on the song. Cassper Nyovest was in Usher’s comment section to declaim the global appeal of South African music.
On his part, DJ Maphorisa shared the clip on Twitter, stating he saw amapiano music going big in his dreams. Felt it.
Clearly, amapiano continues to make waves around the world, silencing those who predict the genre will vanish as quickly as it appeared.
By the way, Kabza De Small is not the first South African artiste whose song has been rocked by an American. Previously, Diddy had rocked Focalistic’s “Ke Star.” Interestingly, Diddy had also rocked a song by Kabza De Small.
Does this solidify Kabza De Small’s claim to amapiano kingship? Some of his fans think so. What do you think, though? You’re welcome to join the conversation by dropping your thoughts in the comment section below.
