After announcing the imminence of his “Ginger” video featuring Burna Boy, Nigerian singer Wizkid has let fans have it.
“Ginger” was one of the tracks in Wizkid’s “Made In Lagos” album which dropped to critical acclaim in October 2020. The body of work was intensely anticipated and was received with rapture when it dropped.
It so happens “Ginger” was one of the fine tunes in the compilation. Given that it brings together two notable afrobeat voices, the song’s charm shouldn’t be surprising, perhaps.
Directed by Maji Alabi, Wizkid’s “Ginger” was shot in what appears to be a warehouse but bears scenes – which are just as rich in visual imagery – from other locations as well. The lighting of the video was splendid, and Wizkids steps in the video are things to watch closely.
The video has got great charm and will never struggle to have fans. You really gotta check it out and see musical energy in action.
