WhatsApp Down: Users on App Service Outage

Several hours ago, complaints started pouring from around the web about outages in WhatsApp services, with some users claiming they’re unable to send messages and others noting they can’t download attachments.

What went wrong?

Several theories are flying around cyberspace in what exactly happened that made users unable to use the app as usual.

In a tweet via its verified channel, WhatsApp acknowledged there was indeed a problem. It added that it’s also troubleshooting to get the service running smoothly again.

In a follow-up tweet, it noted that the service is back up and wished users a grand time chatting. You can check it out below.

The reaction to the tweet was mixed. Some users noted that they didn’t experience any outage whatsoever. Some acknowledged that, True to what the service had posted via Twitter, their apps are now running smoothly again.

The contrarians were also visible on the thread. According to this collective, no one uses WhatsApp. Lol.

Anyway, history shows that this isn’t the first time WhatsApp service has been down, and users would complain. It’s happened a couple of times previously.

Incidentally, in almost every instance so far, some users claim not to be affected by the outage.
