Who Killed Senzo Meyiwa? Kelly Khumalo Ready to Testify as Trial Resumes

The Senzo Meyiwa murder trial is set to resume after two initial deferments. The former Bafana Bafana goalie had been murdered at his then-girlfriend Kelly Khumalo’s family home in 2014. His killers have never been found.

As the girlfriend of the murdered footballer at the time, Kelly is of great interest in the trial.

While there is no evidence that she’s responsible for the death of Senzo Meyiwa, some family members of the late footballer believe she knows who had pulled the trigger on that fateful day in 2014.

Also present during the shooting were Kelly’s younger sister, Zandi, their mother, Ntombi Khumalo, Longwe Twala, and Meyiwa’s friends Mthokozisi Thwala and Tumelo Madlala.

With the trial resuming after two postponements, Kelly Khumalo’s lawyer Magdalene Moonsamy stated earlier today (Friday, April 22) that the songstress is ready to appear in court to testify about what she knew about the case.

Moonsamy noted that her client has been compliant so far and will readily show up in court if the prosecution should need her presence.

Senzo Meyiwa’s murder has been a subject of great interest in South Africa. In fact, at some point, the rapper Blaklez had tried to draw attention to it all by releasing a song titled, “Who Killed Senzo?”
