South African singer Kelly Khumalo is in the news again and for all the wrong reasons. Apparently, she would not be testifying at the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial. This reluctance to testify provoked curiosity among many South Africans.
On social media and elsewhere, fans are asking why she would not be testifying at the trial. For one, she should know what exactly happened on the day in 2014 when Senzo Meyiwa was murdered. For one, she was his girlfriend at the time he was killed.
Secondly, she was present on the night of the death: Senzo was killed at her mother’s home in Vosloorus, and not only was Kelly present at the time of the killing, her sister, Zandie, was there as well, and so was their mother and other associates.
About a day ago, Kelly Khumalo’s text messages from 2013 were revealed showing her stating her regrets about her relationship with Senzo and how she failed to get rid of him via text messages since he couldn’t focus on her at the time. (Senzo was married while having a relationship with her).
While reports indicate that Kelly will not testify, her sister Zandie Khumalo has readily taken the witness box.
Unimpressed peeps are of the view Kelly should be compelled to testify.
